Asian Wave Alliance Endorses Mazi Pilip for Congressional NY3 Special Election

February 2, 2024 (New York, NY) Asian Wave Alliance endorses Mazi Pilip for New York’s 3rd Congressional District Special Election on February 13. We believe Mazi Pilip is the best person to advocate for the interests of New Yorkers, particularly for the Asian community. With our top concerns of immigration, crime and affordability, Mazi Pilip’s legislative record and 10-Point Plan provides a strong response to these issues. Her opponent, Tom Suozzi’s proposed immigration plan does not adequately, nor directly address the concerns facing NY State and our country.  Additionally, he supported congestion pricing when he served in Congress for three terms

“As a nonpartisan political club, we believe it is important to have checks and balances in government for democracy to work for the people. Keeping a slim majority of Republicans in the House will provide oversight to the policies we feel are adversely impacting our communities and plagues our country,” said Yiatin Chu, President of Asian Wave Alliance.

NY3 includes eastern Queens – Whitestone, Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Glen Oaks and Queens Village, where Asians are 23% of the overall district which largely sits in Nassau county.  All registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, can vote in this Special Election on Tuesday, February 13; early voting starts Saturday Feb. 3 and runs through Sunday Feb. 11.
